Compiled & reviewed by Nikolai Tsyrenov · Updated 2026-07-18 · confidence: high
A step-by-step Samsung warranty claim: what to gather, who to contact, and what to do if you're out of warranty.
In short: 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864) or samsung.com/us/support/service; authorized service centers only. Proof of purchase required. Have a dated proof of purchase and the serial number ready before you start.
What you'll need
- A dated proof of purchase (receipt, order email, or card statement)
- The product's serial number and model
- A clear description of the defect — photos or video if you can
- Product registration is helpful but usually not required
Steps to file your Samsung warranty claim
- Locate your model and serial number (or IMEI for phones). on mobile check Settings > About phone or dial *#06#; on TVs and appliances the model/serial is on a sticker on the back or side panel.
- Step 2. Go to samsung.com/us/support/service and sign in with (or create) a Samsung Account so the request is tied to your registered product — or proceed without an account.
- Step 3. Click 'Request Service' / 'Request a Repair', enter the model/serial or IMEI, describe the symptom, and choose mail-in or in-home service depending on the product.
- Step 4. Provide proof of purchase if warranty status needs verifying, then confirm and track the request under My Page > Products.

If your claim is denied or out of warranty
Common reasons Samsung denies a claim or treats it as out of warranty:
- Accidental, physical, or liquid damage and cracked screens (covered only under Samsung Care+).
- Repairs or modifications by anyone other than a Samsung-authorized service center, or use of non-Samsung parts.
- Cosmetic damage, normal wear, and consumable parts.
- No valid proof of purchase, or a product outside the warranty period / purchased outside the US.
Third-party protection plans (Asurion, Upsie, SquareTrade) or your credit card's purchase protection may still cover a repair or replacement — check those before paying out of pocket.
